Smart Energy Meter

As the energy consumption has been increasing over the last decade, there has been focus on ensuring that the theft and pillage is kept to the minimum. In this direction the utilities are constantly looking at ways to minimize these losses as well as to automate the billing process, predict proper demand forecasts, etc. So the introduction of smart energy meters as a solution.


Aashaya design solutions has designed single phase energy meter with and with out DLMS, GPRS/RF based short range/Long range communication with CT/Shunt based ones for different current capability. This energy meter is designed, tested and validated and the design is unique to the form factor which the OEM customer wants for their use. Representative block diagram of this energy meter is as shown below:


In our design, we have used Renesas RL78 MCU. The design has IS16444 certification and is as per the standards

Energy usage in developing countries is everybody's concern and where ever possible it is required to work towards reducing the consumption of energy in commercial and large buildings. In many of these commercial buildings, occupancy based lighting and any energy consumption devices could be used to turn off the devices while there is no one.


ADS offers a selection of motion-sensitive lighting control devices for commercial building applications. Keep costs down by preventing wasteful and unnecessary use of energy. With two different mounting styles and an adjustable time delay, these sensors give you control over the lighting of rooms. The installation is simple, and the housing is low-profile.


It operates with input voltage of 230V, 50Hz and up to 40 degree C. Sensitivity is up to 20Ft range (total of 40Ft coverage) with a 110 by 70 degree detection range as shown in the fig 1. The output is a solid state relay output which can drive loads up to 10A (multiple lights or fans as needed).

Brushless DC Motor are used in various applications and provide better control and less power consumption compared to conventional motors.


ADS has developed a low cost, low power consuming BLDC controller which can be ideal for ceiling fans, or other applications.


The present design can work with both sensor (hall effect) or sensor less operation.


Can be controlled through RF remote..


Can work with either 90-230V 50/60Hz AC or 24V/12V DC as input.

A GPS tracking unit is a device that uses the Global Positioning System to determine the precise location of a vehicle, person or other asset to which it is attached and to record the position of the asset at regular intervals.


The recorded location data can be stored within the tracking unit, or it may be transmitted to a central location data base through GPRS connectivity and the details can be viewed in Mobile or through a website.


The overall services offered is called as the GPS Services.


Includes a HW device, Server Side software, and tracking software.


Applications: Taxi cab services, School bus (with RFID), Truck Services, etc.


VISPro Sensor -Controller

VISPRo sensor is a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) enabled device.


A WSN device is used to collect information such as temperature, relative humidity from the farm field and forward the information of dataset to the remote center through GSM module.


The monitoring will be on hourly based, when the dataset exceeds the threshold set values wakeup the GSM module and sends the information to the remote center.


Can be completely remotely monitored and controlled through SMS.


System parses the incoming SMS and can do multiple functions based on that.


Can also control various devices – 2 switches with each 10A is provided through a mechanical relay for ON/OFF.


Could be useful in farms for auto control of water pumps or for the Chwaki Center for the auto control of humidity and temperature.


DAQ controller for spinning mills

Spinning is the twisting together of drawn out strands of fibers to form yarn, and is a major part of the textile industry.


Spinning mills Typically use either Ring Spinning machines or Mule Spinning machines.


Main problem is the ability to monitor round the clock and control the overall production as well as obtain the data so that the power consumption, efficiency improvement, yield improvements, etc .


A consolidated DAQ with the features described can solve this problem, and is proposed by Aashaya Design Solutions.

Overview of System


Data Acquisition: Software acquires all the data from the shop floor machines through DAQ installed in machine


Data Transformation: Necessary transformations are done on the data to extract useful information


Data Management: Data management is done for efficient storage, reporting and retrieval


Live Information: Live information are provided on the dashboard


Report Generation: Provides report periodically or on demand of the data for shift wise, day, month and year.


Alerts: Machine Breakdown, maintenance and any other defined alerts shall be notified through the defined communication media (SMS, Mail)


Power Meter Function

 

All the electrical data from all type of machines are obtained and are displayed in Dash Board


Report for electrical data are sent on shift wise, day wise


Plan is to enhance the data Data gathering by using WiFI modules instead of CAT5 cables.


Vibration Sensor

This vibration sensor can be used for understanding the mechanical vibrations which can lead to catastrophic failures in moving instruments where the unbalance can lead to the vibrations which can deteriorate over time. .


Vibrations of any high speed or high power machines can cause huge amount of losses to the systems.


So it is advised to "shut off" the machine and attend to the cause of vibration and rectify to minimize the losses.


Aashaya Design Solutions offers a simple high sensitivity and high value Vibration Sensor. This Vibration Sensor works up from -400G force to +400G force in all 3 directions (X, Y and Z directions).


Threshold value for the vibration can be set. Data is gathered and analyzed for any violations and automatically shuts the power supply trough the SSR.
